Los Angeles is one of the few places in the world where you can go surfing in the morning and then skiing in the afternoon. I have yet to meet anyone who has actually done this, but it is good to know that it is a possibility.
The beaches in Malibu are beautiful and it is easy to see why they are iconic. Will Rogers State Historic Park is another favorite spot. It has a variety of scenic and peaceful hiking trails overlooking the ocean. Will’s widow, Betty, donated the ranch to California State Parks in 1944, for everyone to enjoy.
The overwhelming appeal, for me at least, is the absolute tranquility, beauty and abundant space found here right in the middle of a vibrant and creative city.
